Hayrides, Pumpkin Picking and Corn Mazes in OhioPlaces to Go to Find Fall Fun in the Buckeye StateAutumn is a great time for family fun in Ohio. Celebrate the changing of seasons at one of these fun-filled events.
Hayrides, pumpkin picking and corn mazes are fall favorites throughout the mid-west. Farms, ranches, parks and greenhouses all around the state of Ohio are gearing up for the fall fun. Fall Fun in ToledoLeaders Family Farms in Napoleon is home of the first Ohio corn maze. This fall they have planned a variety of fun events. There is their infamous corn maze, scary cornfields (known as Scream Acres), face painting, pumpkin picking and hayrides. Fall events are held on weekends and Friday evenings from September 26 -November 2. General admission for adults is $8 and $6 for kids. Additional fees apply for Scream Acres. Just a few miles outside of the Toledo area is the 2008 Presidential Race Corn Maze. This maze is a must see. Visitors begin by choosing a candidate/political party, and continue by answering questions about the election to help guide them through the maze. The maze opens on Saturday, September 20 and continues through the month of October. In addition to this fun maze, guests can enjoy a pumpkin patch, farm animal tours and barrel train rides. The cost for admission to the maze is $5. Fall Fun in CincinnatiGorman Heritage Farm near Evendale will offer many fun fall activities at their Sunflower Festival on Saturday, October 4 and Sunday, October 5, 2008 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.. Guests can enjoy pumpkin picking and painting, hayrides, horseback demonstrations, a sunflower maze and much more. Cost for admission is $6 for adults and $4 for children and seniors. Fall Fun in ClevelandState parks are also getting in on the fall fun. Throughout the month of October, Mill Stream Run in Strongville (just outside of Cleveland) is celebrating the fall with hayrides, square dancing, mazes and pumpking carving demonstrations. Visit the park on Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons to enjoy these activities. The cost for adults is $7 and $5 for children. Fall Fun in ColumbusPumpkin enthusiasts will truly enjoy the Pumpkin Show in Circleville. Having been held for over one hundred years, the festival boasts of having over 400,000 attendees each year. Festival participants can enjoy various parades and exhibits (including viewing the world's largest pumpkin pie), musical acts, magicians, contests, concessions and rides. The Pumpkin Show is Ohio's oldest and largest festival. It will be held from October 15-18 and admission is free. Summer is over but the fun is not.
