2007 state fairs in Kentucky, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio and Wisconsin celebrate the "best of" with entertainment and fun.

The summer state fairs are being held around the country. Originally a showcase for agriculture, the state events offer a variety of livestock, entertainment, farm equipment, midways, rides, contests, food, art, music and more. The Heartland of America has exciting events in every state.

Kentucky State Fair, Louisville, KY, August 16 - 26.

Celebrating its 103rd year in 2007 Over 600,000 people attend the state fair annually. See livestock, competition, food, music, entertainment, carnival rides, amusement park rides. The World Championship Horse Show runs August 19 - 25. The Thrillway includes the midway and Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom Amusement Park. Headliners include Alice Cooper, Kool & the Gang, Oak Ridge Boys, MercyMe with Tree 63, Gary Allen Lou Christie, Jay & the Americans, Lesley Gore, Switchfoot, Blake Shelton, Def Leppard, Styx, Foreigner, American Idols. Adult admission $7.

Illinois State Fair, "Celebrate and Educate" Springfield, IL August 10-19

The Illinois State Fair is th premier agricultural showcase of Illinois. More than 150 buildings are filled with fascinating displays and exhibits that celebrate the states recreational opportunities and natural resources. The summer festival features 366 acres of attractions, with livestock, carnival rides, motor sports, truck and tractor pulls,auto races, animal shows, Budweiser Clydesdales, Welde's Big Bear Show. world class harness racing,, musical entertainment and interesting exhibits. Performers entertain on stages. Headlines performing on the mains stage include Gretchen Wilson, Corbin Bleu, Daughtry, Illinois Symphony, Martina McBride, Joe Walsh and Sugarland. There will be contests, food and lots of family fun at the Illinois State Fair. Adult admission $3.

Iowa State Fair "Sounds Like Fun" Des Moines, IA, August 9 - 19

The Iowa State Fair is internationally acclaimed fail, considered America's classic state fair. The biggest event in Iowa attracts more than one million fun loving fair goers from around the world. The Iowa State Fair has a history going back to 1854, and has inspired three motion pictures based on "State Fair" and a Rodgers and Hammerstein Broadway musical. Headliners include Gary Allen, Alice Cooper, IMCA Stock Cars, Rock 'n' Roll Reunion, Corbin Bleu, Tractor Pull, Joe Walsh, Switchfoot, American Idols Live. Adult admission $6.

Indiana State Fair, Indianapolis, IN, August 8-19

Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis, IN. The State Fair features live animals in livestock barns, entertainment, exhibits, competitions, agriculture, food and fun. Headliners include Casting Crows, Rascal Flatt's Tour, PRCS Rodeo, Jones Brothers, Kenny Rogers & the Oak Ridge Boys, David Cassidy, American Idols, Harness Racing, Demolition Derby and more. Adult admission $8.

Michigan State Fair, Detroit, August 22 - Labor Day

The first state fair in the nations bills itself "best entertainment value in Michigan".

Minnesota State Fair, August 23 to September 3, Labor Day.

Features PRCA championship Rodes, Royal Canadian Police, Grandstand Toyota concert series and more. Headliners include Brad Paisley, Goo Goo Dolls, Joan Jett, Weird Al Yankovic, Allman Brothers, Vince Gill, BB King, Garrison Keillor wit A Prairie Home Companion, MercyMe and Def Leppard.. Adults $9.

Missouri State Fair, "It's Show Time" Sedalia, MO, August 9-19

Features harness racing, Pepsi Grandstand, auto racing and the Farm Toy Show. Adults $8.

Nebraska State Fail, Lincoln, NE, August 24 - Labor Day.

The social event of the season features Budweiser Clydesdale's, Toyota Tundra Prove It Tour, Extreme Monster Truck Nationals, Bull Riding Spectacularly, Tractors Pulls, Auto Racing, and demo Derby. Concerts include Clay Walker, Joan Jett, Jars of Clay, The New Cars and The Charlie Daniels Band. Adult admission $6.

Ohio State Fair, Columbus, Ohio, August 10 - 12

The Ohio State Fair is held at the Ohio Expo Center and State Fair Park in Columbus. The fair features family entertainment, agriculture, educations and fun. Main stage entertainment includes Daughtry, George Jones and Merle Haggard, John Cash Tribute Show, Pat Benatar, "Weird Al" Yankovic Rascal Flatts, Gary Allan, REM, Diana Reeves, Charlie Wilson and Quiet Riot. Adult admission $8.

Wisconsin State Fair "156 Years of Fun!", West Allis, WI August 1 - 12

Grand Champion of Summer celebrates 156 years of fun this year. The fairgrounds are west of the City of Milwaukee. The entire family enjoys the fair! Great food, agricultural exhibits, shopping in the bazaar, cream puffs, a midway and entertainment. Headliners include: Doobie Brothers, Country Fest, Lupillo Rivera, George Jones, T.G. Sheppard, Mercyme with Tree64, Lonestar, Corbin Blue, Kool & the Gang, Wisconsin Rocks, Switchfoot and Kids from Wisconsin. Adult admission $8.
