Top of the Hub restaurant was chosen by the Travel Channel as one of the Ten Most Romantic Places in the United States. This place takes romance to a new level.

Consider this is a wake up call for all you men and women who are involved in long term relationships. If Cupid, or, better yet, your mother, have been saying “You’ve been together for years, enough already, get married”. Then, take the hint that it’s time to tie the knot, take the plunge, in other words “pop the question”.

A special occasion like this calls for someplace lofty and romantic. Boston’s Top of the Hub restaurant on the 52nd floor of the Prudential Building, with its spectacular views, elegant décor and wonderful food fits the bill in that department.

According to general manager Raphael Oliver “Tens of thousands of couples have become engaged at Top of the Hub since we opened in 1965. If there were to be a reunion of them, the amount of people attending would fill the entire Prudential building. Not a weekend goes by without several marriage proposals taking place”.

It’s a simple lesson in Romance 101. Pay attention everyone, take notes so that you’ll remember these tips when making your reservation; order flowers, champagne, corner table with a view. It all adds up to a romantic evening.

Let’s set the scene; you arrive just before sunset, in the lounge be sure to order martinis made the James Bond way – shaken, not stirred. Surrounding you, the incredible views of Boston and its skyline.

The best part comes later after a wonderful dinner at your corner table. A word to your attentive waitstaff and suddenly there’s flowers, champagne and you at her side, on bended knee, your outstretched hand cradling a velvet box, you whisper “I love you. Will you marry me?”

Cupid’s arrow hits its mark again. You made it a night to remember. And, you get an A+ in Romance 101.
