For many, attending a sporting event over the holidays would make for an ideal vacation. Consider one of the following holiday itineraries for the Christmas break.
An enjoyable Christmas holiday is all about doing what one most enjoys. For many that is watching a favorite team compete. Knowing this, various teams have scheduled competitions on or around Christmas Day. Combining one of these sporting events with a couple of nights stay at a wonderful hotel can make for a fun and memorable holiday getaway. Christmas Vacation and the NBA FanOn Christmas Day the Miami Heat will face the New York Knicks at the infamous Madison Square Garden. This can be the foundation of a dream vacation for any Knicks fan. After attending the game, stay a couple of nights at the Sheraton New York, just a short walk from the arena. In addition to a great number of amenities, guests lodging at the Sheraton can partake of a grand holiday buffet on Christmas Day (for an additional fee). Christmas Vacation and the NHL FanHockey fans might want to head to the Motor City for the Christmas holidays. The day after Christmas, Detroit's beloved Red Wings will face off against the Columbus Blue Jackets at the Joe Louis Arena. Christmas Vacation for the True Sports LoverA trip to Indianapolis over the holidays can provide the grand sports lovers holiday getaway. This dream vacation begins the day after Christmas at the Conseco Fieldhouse where the Indianapolis Pacers will take on the Atlanta Hawks. After a night of "NBA Action", head over to Lucas Stadium for a competition between the Indianapolis Colts and the New York Jets. For overnight lodging, consider staying at the Westin Indianapolis. The hotel offers great amenities and is just minutes from both Conseco Fieldhouse and Lucas Stadium. If planning to be in town on Christmas Day, the hotel's restaurant will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Be sure to make plans as soon as possible as tickets to these sporting events are limited.
